MUSICAL THEATRE – Samantha Dodemaide
Most recently Samantha appeared as one of the Merry Murderesses, as well as understudy to Roxie Hart in the Australian tour of Chicago (GFO/Suzanne Jones). Prior to this Samantha captivated audiences as Elphaba in HOTA’s Wicked (HOTA/Matt Ward Productions) and Before Wicked, performed in the acclaimed production of Evita (GFO/ Opera Australia) in which she was understudy to Tina Arena who played Eva Peron. Samantha has been most recently cast in the upcoming Australian tour of Dolly Parton’s 9to5 the musical as new recruit Judy Bernley. Samantha’s breakthrough role came as Dorothy in the 2017-18 Australian tour of The Wizard of Oz (GFO/Suzanne Jones). Before heading down the yellow brick road, Samantha was a part of the Australian/Japan tour of Singin’ in the Rain as Kathy U/S (Michael Cassel/Dainty Group) and prior to this starred as the title role in Violet (Blue Saint Productions), for which she was nominated for a 2015 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Actress in a Musical. Her other credits include Anything Goes as Erma & Reno U/S (GFO/Opera Australia), Sweet Charity as Charity Hope Valentine U/S (Tinderbox/Neil Gooding/Luckiest Productions), A Chorus Line as Cassie, Diana, Maggie, Sheila, Judy U/S (TML), as well as ensemble in Wicked (Universal Studios Japan), King Kong Live on Stage (Global Creatures), A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum (GFO), The Producers (The Production Company) and Anything Goes (The Production Company). Samantha was the proud recipient of the prestigious Rob Guest Endowment in 2013.
COMMERCIAL JAZZ – Mark Hill
Mark Hill is a Helpmann Award and Sydney Theatre Award Nominated Actor. A proud Queenslander, Mark graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) in 2016. (BFA Acting). He originated the role of Bjorn in Muriel’s Wedding the Musical and performed the role of Macka in a reading of the Patrick White award-winning play “Hot Tub”, both for Sydney Theatre Company (STC). In 2018, he made his Network television debut in WANTED season 3, playing the role of Eli Harris. In 2019, he played Riff in Opera Australia’s West Side Story for which he received both a Helpmann and a Sydney Theatre Award nomination. Mark is midway through shooting a new drama series for the ABC, and has won a role in the upcoming Baz Lurhmann film, to be shot on the Gold Coast in 2020 and following this Mark will be starring as Leo Bloom in Altitude Theatre’s The Producers. Mark’s professional theatre credits include Mary Poppins (u/s Bert), A Chorus Line (Don, u/s Zach) Chitty Chiity Bang Bang, South Pacific (u/s Billis), Gypsy (Tulsa), Eurobeat, The Producers, The Boyfriend and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
